There is a huge and most controversial issue that is bugging the daylights out of me . .
I KNOW that ‘nothing new is under the sun’ (Ecclesiastes 1:9) and there are Scripture references about men seeking other men, but it still grieves me to the core.
There was a video about a woman who is taking her last shopping trip to Target, because Target donates to a Republican leader and she wanted to show the store that she against this so badly that she is going to boycout them out of her life, for good.
WHY? Because this Republican (as most do) believes in God’s purpose of marriage and does not support gay marriages.
She bought over $200 worth of stuff, then turned around and returned it.
WHY? Because she wanted the manager to see what she had bought.
WHAT DID SHE BUY? Stuff for her grandchidren.
WHY? Because they have a gay uncle.
(Is any of this as confusing to you, as it was to me???)
This is the STRANGEST way of ‘protesting’ something!
Here’s the part that really got me . . . when she gave her reasoning for doing all of this, it was because “We are all just people”.
We are God’s children . . . created in HIS image. The image of a Holy, Mighty, Merciful, Gracious, Forgiving, Perfect, Sinless, Powerful, Eternal God. I cannot stand when people twist Scripture to justify their sinful actions.I’ve said it many times before, I’ll keep saying it . . all sin boils down to CONTROL.
People want to control their own lives. People want to control their own actions. People don’t want to live the way that Christ called us to live because that means that there is conviction involved, and who likes being convected??
Now, I don’t know the hearts of men. I don’t know if people who say that they’re gay truly believe in their hearts that they are, or if it’s just another form of rebellion against God, but I do know this . . .
Christ loves the sinner.
It is just that.
However, if it’s a life-style, it is warned about in Scripture.
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality (worldly conforming to sexual sins), impurity (the condition of not being pure) and debauchery (excessive indulgence of sinful pleasures); idolatry (worshiping anything/anyone but God) and witchcraft (worship of black magic); hatred (intense dislike), discard (rejecting a person/thing), jealously (showing envy of someone/something), fits of rage (violent or uncontrollable anger), selfish ambition (strong desire to fulfill selfish wants), dissensions (disagreement that leads to discord), factions (a state of extreme conflict with something/someone) and envy (resentful of someone else’s possessions); drunkenness (drunk, intoxicated), orgies (wild, excessive sexual participation), and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
LIVING this way, choosing this way to live, is different than having a sin issue that you are in prayer about and asking/needing God’s unfailing forgiveness for.
There IS a difference.
Galatians 5:13 But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.
